Madore Votes To Allow Taxpayer Funded Sex-Selection Abortions

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

On April 3rd, 2008, while discussing HF 1812, Rep. Holberg offered an amendment which would have prevented taxpayer funds from being used to fund an abortion if that abortion was based solely upon the babies sex. Madore voted AGAINST it.

Many people, including some of Madore’s constituents, find abortion repulsive enough, without the fact that Madore apparently thinks it’s okay to abort a baby just because you wanted a boy rather than a girl (or vice-versa)….and she wants YOUR money to pay for it.

If Shelley believes this is something worth spending your money on, what is NOT worthy of your money?? While it is easy to disagree with Madore on many issues, allowing state funding for an abortion based only on the sex of the child is not only repulsive but downright wrong. The act itself is wrong, much less making the taxpayers foot the bill.

Should 11-Year Olds Get Birth Control Without Parental Notification?

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

Shelley Madore thinks so!

While considering S. F. No. 184, Rep. Brod offered an amendment stating that if the patient is under the age of 18, a registered nurse must NOTIFY the parents first.  Remember, not get parental approval, they just have to notify the parents.

Madore voted no.

Your child can’t yet vote, can’t legally drink alcohol, can barely drive, but apparently are willing to make decisions on birth control without even you being aware of it.

Ok….maybe she thinks 17 year old are very mature.

So Rep. Peppin offered an amendment stating that if the child is under 16, the parents have to be notified.

Madore voted no!

Remember, the age of consent in Minnesota is 16.  So legally that child can’t even make the decision to have sex, but Madore thinks they are capable of making the decision of being on birth control.  Not only without parental approval, but even without parental notification.

Well surely there is a limit to this???

Rep Brod then introduced an amendment stating that if the child was under the age of 12, the nurse had to at least notify the parents their child was being dispensed oral contraceptives.

Madore voted NO!!!

We’re no longer talking a fairly self-sufficient youngster of of 16 or 17, this is a child.  Which apparently Madore knows more about parenting that you do, because she’s taken away your right to even be notified that your child is being dispensed oral contraceptives.

Perhaps someone should ask just who the legal guardian of this child is??? The parent? Or the state?

Shelley Madore Has Alot To Be “Proud” Of

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Recently Shelley Madore sent a letter to her supporters bragging

Last week the Minnesota House met in a marathon stretch of floor sessions to pass all of the major finance bills. After 53 hours of floor debate, just short of a House record - we’re a full two to three weeks ahead of schedule compared with previous legislative sessions.

Apparently she’s proud that she can raise your taxes faster than previous legislators can.

She then went on to highlight some of the bills she is most proud of. However, she left out some of her more “infamous” activities. And because I’m such a nice guy I thought I’d list some of the most interesting ones here.

The State Knows What You Don’t About Your Kids

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

Wow…this is honestly amazing, I wouldn’t have believed it.

Today, an amendment was offered to require hospitals to notify parents if their child had been sexually assaulted and was seeking medical treatment.  Shelley Madore voted NO.

In other words, Madore believes that if your CHILD is sexually assaulted, you don’t need to know. Unless you happen to find out by other means, such as your child telling you.

Remember these are children, not adults.

Given that Shelley Madore is a parent herself (and I’m sure she is a good and caring one), how can she vote like this?? If your child was sexually assaulted and in the hospital, wouldn’t you want to know as soon as possible???

Madore Ensures Taxpayer Funded Abortions For All

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

Abortion is a sensitive issue for everyone and there are deep feelings on the issue for all involved. Yet despite that, thanks in part to Shelley Madore, even if you are passionately opposed to abortion, your taxes will be helping to pay for them.

On Friday, April 20th, while considering SF 2171, twenty-three reprensentatives proposed an amendment that would have prevented state funds from being used to provide abortions. As usual, Madore voted with the inner-city liberals, and voted against the amendment.

As a result, regardless of how you feel on the issue, your tax dollars can be used to fund abortions.
